Summary of the overall aims of the course

As the pace of change increases, businesses are recognising the need for their employees to learn and adapt quickly. Coupled with the need to find cost effective, just-in-time development, coaching has become a key management tool.

This course will introduce participants to the skills of coaching, provide a simple coaching framework and provide the opportunity to practice these skills.

Course objectives

At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Distinguish between appropriate uses of coaching, mentoring and managing;
  • Identify the benefits of coaching for coachee, coach and organisation;
  • List the skills and qualities required by good coaches;
  • Lead the process of establishing a coaching contract;
  • Explain and apply the GROW model of coaching;
  • Demonstrate use of a structured approach to a coaching session

Target audience

Managers, supervisors and business owners who want to develop an approach/leadership style to empower and develop team members.

Debbie Moore holds an MSc in management development and is an NLP master practitioner and a Transformational coach. She has substantial experience of performance coaching for senior managers and tutored on the Level 7 ILM Executive coaching programme.

Debbie is a highly experienced corporate trainer who has worked with major national and international businesses including a major aerospace company, a leading national motor insurance company and a global financial brand.
