Business Support Services for Eastbourne and Lewes

Funded by Lewes District and Eastbourne Borough Councils, Edeal has adapted their business support services to continue to help residents start their own businesses.

Based on the components that form the one day start up workshop, Edeal has launched a series of free bite size webinars (full details below). We had planned to deliver a one day start up workshop on the 16th November however due to lockdown this has now been postponed.

Business start-up workshop - what to expect!

Our FREE Business Start-up workshops starting in Jan 2021 will guide you through the start-up process whilst making you think about your vision and values and what motivates you to succeed. It will bring together all aspects of starting a business to help you make informed decisions.

Why do you want to start a business? How will it change your life and how could it change the lives of others around you? What are you willing to give to ensure your business succeeds? If you want to run your own business, you need to be doing it for the right reasons. To accomplish your goals, you need to wholeheartedly believe in what you are doing and why. We explore all of this together on this fast pace interactive one-day workshop.

Series of free bite size webinars for Lewes District and Eastbourne residents and businesses

Based on the popular Business Start-up workshops, this programme is designed for anyone who has an enterprising idea and wants to start their own business. The content may also be valuable for local businesses and community enterprises to develop specific areas of their organisations.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions and to interact with other local entrepreneurs and businesses to help build your professional network.

Motivation, vision, and values - 75 minutes

Delivered by Vanessa Peters, an experienced business coach, mentor, and change manager, you will learn what it means to be a business owner and have the opportunity to explore what you want to achieve. This session is strongly recommended for anyone considering starting-up their own business.

Market research & business planning

23rd November at 10.30am - 90 minutes

Delivered by Jim Fletcher, an experienced business coach, trainer and mentor, you will get to understand your market and competition and the core areas you need to consider when setting-up and running a business. This session is strongly recommended for anyone considering starting-up their own business.

Session 3

Commercial contracts - What you need to know

3rd December at 10.30am - 90 minutes

Delivered by Carol Hill, a qualified solicitor, you will learn why you need contracts, the different types of contracts, the key elements of a contract e.g. GDPR and how to handle contract disputes.

Session 4

Marketing in the current climate

8th December at 11am - 60 minutes

Delivered by Emma Pearce, an experienced traditional and digital marketer. 

The webinar will cover key marketing considerations for the current climate we are in, along with top tips and explanations about the best mix of traditional and digital marketing tactics to boost your business. Plus there’ll be plenty of time for marketing Q&A. 

We’ll also be giving away two free marketing resources and providing an update on marketing funding that’s available right now.

The webinar will include:

· Tips for marketing planning and your approach to communications
