How can I find suitable premises for my business?
There are a number of sources through which premises may be found:
-
EDEAL are the managing agents for the EDEAL Business Centre, Polegate which is dedicated to providing entrepreneurial start-up businesses with affordable and accessible office accommodation.
-
Commercial property agents. Similar to estate agents selling homes, commercial property agents offer commercial premises for purchase or lease. Premises offered may include offices, shops, factories, warehouses and land designated for commercial use. Agents can work on behalf of the property owner or for the buyer or potential tenants. See www.naea.co.uk for details.
-
Internet searches. There are numerous commercial property search engines, including ones that specialise in retail or office premises. Examples include: www.findaproperty.com, www.freeofficefinder.com, www.comproperty.com, www.propertymail.com
-
Many newspapers include commercial property supplements. Alongside general news about the property market, these carry advertisements for properties for lease and sale, plus details of commercial property agents in your area. See www.mediauk.com for a directory of newspapers across the UK. Dalton’s Weekly (www.daltons.co.uk) is one of the best known and used publications.
-
Some local authorities, Chambers of Commerce and Enterprise Agencies have listings of commercial property in the area available via their websites, and may be aware of enterprise business parks & zones where suitable premises may be found.
